Max Somerset is a British magician who has made his name by featuring in television shows "Max Magic" and "Undercover Magic" on Sky One.
In 2007 Max brought magic to a younger audience by starring as the eccentric and madcap Sorcerer in The Sorcerer's Apprentice (CBBC). The programme gave 14 children the chance to attend magic school and learn some of magic's finest secrets, performing competitively to win the prestigious title of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". The show also featured the talent of professional magicians Sophie Evans and Tariq Knight.
Max discovered magic whilst still a young child, and claims that his passion was ignited after watching a Paul Daniels performance of coins penetrating a table top. Max went on to develop his art in the magic clubs of London and also by performing street magic and is a member of the world's premier magical society The Magic Circle, and performed at the Circle's centenary celebrations. Also an accomplished musician Max studied music at Trinity College London, from 1993 - 1997, and gained batchelors and masters degrees in music. Whilst at Trinity College he also wrote the syllabus for Digital Keyboard, grades 6-8. After leaving university Max embarked on a career teaching music whilst also pursuing his magical interests. He has performed twice at the Royal Albert Hall with the Kensington Temple Gospel Choir on the Digital Orchestral Multi-Keyboard. He plays the Hammond Organ and is Musical Director of the 500 member Emmanuel Baptist Fellowship in North London.
