Max Schwabe

Max Schwabe (December 6, 1905 - July 31, 1983) was a U.S. Representative from Missouri, brother of George Blaine Schwabe.

Born in Columbia, Missouri, Schwabe attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Insurance agent. Farmer.

Schwabe was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-eighth and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1943-January 3, 1949). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Eighty-first Congress in 1948. Missouri State director, Farmers Home Administration, United States Department of Agriculture from 1953 to 1961. He died on July 31, 1983, in Columbia, Missouri. He was interred in Columbia Cemetery, Columbia, Missouri.
