Max Jaffa

Max Jaffa O.B.E. (December 28, 1911 - July 30, 1991)[1] was a British light orchestral violinist and bandleader.
He was born in London, and started playing in the pit of a silent cinema orchestra whilst still at school. At 17 he became the leader of the Scottish Orchestra. In World War 2, he originally served as Gunner Jaffa in the Royal Artillery, but subsequently to the Royal Air Force and became a pilot in the Bomber Command.[2] In the 1950s and 1960s, his concerts from the Palm Court in Scarborough were frequently featured on BBC radio.[3]
