Max Fechner (* 27 July 1892 Berlin; † 13 September 1973 Schöneiche ), Minister of Justice of the DDR.
Fechner was trained tool maker. He joined 1910 SPD, was 1917-1922 member of the USPD, and then returned to the SPD. He was 1921-1925 Bezirksverordneter the Berlin Neukölln district and 1924-1933 member of the Prussian parliament. He worked in the National Executive of the SPD and was responsible editor of the magazinemunicipal "The community.
Fechner was in the resistance group to Franz artists actively and 1933 - 1934 (Oranienburg), 1944-1945 in prison
After the war Fechner member of the party's executive committee and central committee of the SED. Between 1946-1948, he burgomasters of East Berlin, 1949 Member of the German People's Council and to 1950 Volkskammer.

Fechner received 1967 Patriotic Order of Merit and 1972 Karl Marx Order.
