This article contains a lot of doubtful informations. I strongly recommend to have a look to the following page: http://cherrapunjee.com/mmq.php Obviously the measurements in India are not that reliable so I would prefer to accept the "old" record from the met. Institute Cherrapunjee. The current annual rainfall from 1973 till 2006 is 11931.7mm anyway, so its higher than this of Mawsynram.
