Mawana is a city and a municipal board in Meerut district in the Uttar Pradesh state of India. In the northeast side of town is Mawana Suger works. Many famous people have also been born here. It has taken its name from the word "Muhana" means Gateway. It is supposed to be the Muhana of Hastinapur kingdom. Hastinapur is a Mahabharat period town situated nearby.[citation needed] Hastinapur is the around 6 km from Mawana and it is around 4 km from Popular Vilage Nidawli. this village is popular due the personality of Saifi family. Mohd Israil Saifi is one of the popular man belongs to this family. Saifpur is also a popular vilage due to the Gurudwara a place of worship for sikhs.
