User:Maurice27/Request for arbitration

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

After the Request for Arbitration looks like in the good way to be accepted, I propose all of you to add here, in good manners, the controversial issues of each of the articles that you wish to be arbitrated. I believe that if we present them together and consensued as a whole, we will get much better results from the comitee.

This said, the request for arbitration is to reach a solution to the articles, not to throw shit (and excuse me for the language) to other users. You may very well add a link to my block log as many times as you wish, but should I remind you that every time a criminal fullfills his sentence in real life, he is supposed to have paid his debt to society. Even some users expressed new sentiments towards me as "I appreciate your positive attitude in presenting your arguments. I agree with some, not with all, but I do appreciate and thank you for presenting them in a constructive and amicable way. Let me offer you a response" or "Thank you for your comments presented in a constructive way again", and I thank them for that. But heck, it is up to you all how you decide to prove your points to the comitee. As for me, what I only want is to reach some results in the articles and stop the continuous edit warring, not that we become best friends going together on vacations presenting each other's sisters.

Again, this is an offer to "announce" the controversial points of each article we wish to be consensued. Classified by articles, you may all add your controversial points, explaining why. After they are all added, we may present them to the comitee with POV of each and every one of us.

To make it easier to express our opinions, I have created a table with four collumns, Controversial matter; Your vote; Explanation of the controversy; User (signature). Below my first controversial point, I have added two example lines. If the matter is going to be the same (i.e. explanation by the the other side), we should use " " in each line. Please try to make your explanations as short as you can in order to keep the table's format.

I hope you all find this idea interesting and decide to contribute to it. --Maurice27 12:57, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Flag of Valencia 2:3 proportions 2:3 version is sourced by a decree, the Spanish Vexillological Society, a book and pictures on official buildings Maurice

Name of the language: Catalan Vs. Valencian Valencian If we use linguistical sources, the AVL (Valencian academy of the language) states the use of the name "Valencian" as seen here [1]. Maurice
Name of the language: Spanish Vs. Castilian Spanish If we use linguistical sources, The RAE (Spanish academy of the language) states the use of the name "spanish" as seen here [2] Maurice
" " Spanish What the language is called in Spain is irrelevant. Spanish is the English name. Boynamedsue
Infobox CAT/VAL+SPA+ENG Even if the AC passed a law for the name to be only in VAL, I defend the idea of having both official languages naming for the territory. Let's not forget that 50 plus % of the pop. has spanish as their mother tongue and that there are zones of the VC (such as Torrevieja) which do not have valencian as official language at all, having 100% of the education in spanish. English is to be added as a courtesy to english-speaking users Maurice

Legal status within Spain To be completely rewritten Even if now ( July 13), this section is not so POVish as in past times, I still believe that it is just a mere addition of legal facts. It should be rewritten as a whole paragraph Maurice
Language section To be completely rewritten and reduced Even if GillesV did a good work adding spanish etimological info, spanish is still negliged in favour of catalan and aranese in length. I vote to reduce the quantity of information in these 2 languages as they both have their main articles Maurice
