[edit] Oscar acceptance speech
I can't personally vouch that she was in the theatre, but she most definitely made that speech and used the words "I would like to thank everyone I've ever met." I watched the TV broadcast, and I liked these words so much that I used them in my speech at my wedding in July 1982. JackofOz 10:07, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Birth place
The article disputes itself. Was Stapleton born in Troy, NY, or Somerville, MA. Or was she born in one, and raised in the other? Bearian 17:14, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- All sources point to Troy, NY. I'm fixing it. Bearian 17:16, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
Maureen lived upstairs from my aunt on West 70th in Manhattan for 30 years. She was a lovely, sweet lady. I believe she published an autobiography at one point, about her experiences at the Actors' Studio with Marlon Brando and James Dean, and her friendship with Tennessee Williams. My favorite movie of hers is not listed on the Filmogrphy. It's a TV movie called "The Electric Grandmother," based on a story by Ray bradbury. 68.116.40.228 (talk) 23:28, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
