[edit] BLP
This is basically an attack article re-airing all of Groknews' claims against this reporter. I've commented out the apparent violations of WP:BLP, and they will be removed entirely if not cited in reliable secondary sources. Cool Hand Luke 22:41, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- The article as a whole seems to violate WP:BLP; does the subject even meet WP:BIO? She wrote for a non-notable defunct magazine run by a red-linked company, and now self-publishes non-notable newsletters. Generally, non-notable people involved in marginally notable controversies get mentioned, if at all, on a page related to the controversy. I've prodded--obviously, feel free to remove the prod if you disagree. THF 23:50, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

- I think she could be on the cusp of notability. Although nearly all third-party references to her are in relation to the Groklaw tiff, she was apparently one of the first writers on Unix news, such as it is. I wouldn't be too surprised if a reliable source somewhere chronicles her days writing Unigram.X and so forth.
- I have no problem, however, if this attack page is deleted. Cool Hand Luke 04:22, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] POV
This information is useful in trying to decode a (tiny) chapter in history. Couldn't we provide true biographical information about this persons career & journalistic successes, such that the Groklaw-feud is put into context? I'd hate to see the article deleted when it is an interesting and notable counterpoint to a chapter of computing history. However, I don't think it's fair to O'Gara to be so one-sided. So, yeah, if nothing changes I agree with BLP (at least condense the material & merge w/PJ or Groklaw) as above, but... the article is already here. It's an opportunity; why waste it, outright? 65.112.197.16 00:49, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
