Maurice Joseph Lawson Turnbull (born March 16, 1906, Cardiff, Wales, died August 5, 1944, Montchamp, France) was a Welsh cricketer who played in 9 Tests for England from 1930 to 1936.

A talented all round sportsman, he captained Cambridge University in his final year and Glamorgan for 10 seasons and gained two rugby union caps for Wales in 1932-33. He also represented Wales at hockey and was squash champion for South Wales. He is the only one to play cricket for England and rugby for Wales. As a major in the Welsh Guards he was killed instantly by a sniper's bullet during the Normandy landings in 1944. He was educated at Downside School near Bath and the school still has a bar named after him for the use of sixth formers
