Maurice Schwartz

Maurice Schwartz (1890-1960) was a star actor of the Yiddish theater in the United States and later Israel.
Schwartz was born in Ukraine and moved to the United States in 1902. He founded the Yiddish Art Theatre in New York and began acting and directing plays by, among others, Sholom Aleichem.
Schwartz is buried in the Yiddish theater section of teh Mount Hebron Cemetery.
