Maurice Roucel

Maurice Roucel is a contemporary perfumer who as of 2006 works at Symrise. Roucel began his career in perfumery in 1973 while working as a chromatography chemist at Chanel. He commenced his apprenticeship under Henri Robert, Chanel's house perfumer at the time.
Maurice Roucel has created many notable perfumes including:
- Envy (1997) for Gucci
- 24 Faubourg (1995) for Hermès
- Iris Silver Mist (1994) for Serge Lutens
- K for Krizia
- Tocade for Rochas
- L'Instant de Guerlain (2004) for Guerlain
- Insolence (2006) for Guerlain
- Musc Ravageur (2000) for Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle
He was also the winner of the Prix François Coty in 2002.
