Maurice Burchell was best known as CBWT's first station announcer and news reader in the 1950s.
Maurice started with CBC station CKY-AM in 1938 and had a broadcasting career that spanned 40 years.
Burchell replaced Ed Russenholt as weather person in the 1962-63 season of Spotlight.[1]
He retired on January 31, 1978.[2]
