Maurice Brownlie (10 August 1897- 21 January 1957[1]), was a New Zealand Rugby Union player. Along with his brothers Cyril and Laurence he represented the country during the 1920s. Maurice Brownlie played 61 matches for the All Blacks, scoring 21 tries. These matches included eight tests. Maurice was a member of The Invincibles during their European tour of 1924-25. On that tour his brother Cyril was the first man to be sent off in a test match. Maurice captained the All Blacks for their 1928 tour of South Africa. All three Brownlies represented Hawkes Bay at a provincial level, all playing as loose forwards.
