Maura Jo West (born April 27, 1972 in Springfield, Massachusetts, U.S.) is an actress, best known for her role as Carly Snyder on the American television soap opera As the World Turns (April 11, 1995-May 8, 1996; September 10, 1997-present).
She has been nominated for a Soap Opera Digest Award five times (in 1996, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2006 respectively), and a Daytime Emmy Award four times (in 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2007 respectively) . West won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2007.
West married former ATWT co-star, Scott DeFreitas, on January 22, 2000 and has two sons and a daughter with him: Joseph Peter, Katherine Marie and Basil John. She was previously married to Jonathan Knight from 1995 to 1999, they have a son, Benjamin. She is good friends with co-star Michael Park and former co-star Lesli Kay [1].
