[edit] Life

He was archdeacon of Capévreux and a royal clerk and physician before he was elected to the see of Worcester before August 23, 1199. His election, however, was quashed by Pope Innocent III because Mauger was illegitimate. However, he was then postulated to the see by the papacy.[1] He was finally consecrated on June 4, 1200. He died on July 1, 1212.[2]
