Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.--Evb-wiki 20:07, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Removal of link from Christian country music page
I am sorry, but I removed your link to your association from the Christian country music page. Your association does not look like a country gospel page and more like and advert. Please be advised that we cannot allow these kinds of adverts and links on main pages like this. Junebug52 20:15, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, but this article is refering to Christian country music. Not varied music styles which is what your directory shows. Your web site is set up as a promotional site and not something that is informational or educational that could be considered encyclopedic. If you can come up with another link that shows this organization stands for Christian country, then I will reconsider reversing my edit. Until such time, we will not be able to allow it to stay. Thank you Junebug52 04:40, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] National Quartet Convention
I removed your link to your association from this article because it doesn't comply with WP:EL and Wikipedia is not a link directory. Links are supposed to extend information about the subject, not other but possibly related subjects. Stevie is the man! Talk • Work 20:44, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Stevie--
The National Quartet Convention is relative to South Texas Gospel Music Association. STGMA has six quartets that are members of our association that will be performing in the National Quartet Convention showcase. We view our association as a training ground for for the big leagues (NQC). It is appropriate that we be included on the National Quartet Convention. Your reconsideration will be greatly appreciated.

- I understand, but in the Wikipedia, external links are supposed to extend information about the convention itself, not groups who perform at the convention. Otherwise, we would end up with a long list of gospel groups, and that list doesn't belong here. Stevie is the man! Talk • Work 21:00, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
