[edit] Complaint
Can you please block IP 216.11.0.254?
We've recently had problems with the Myeongseong article and now, as things have calmed down and the original annoyance was blocked, we've had 216.11.0.254 instigating arguments with me and other members.
It's kind of frusterating, especially when we're all trying to write this article and finish it.

I'd love to help but I'm not an admin. Sorry. Matthew Platts 13:52, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Question regarding content
I have a question regarding content on a wikipedia page, but don't know if it would require full advocacy. I will hope to explain this as fully as possible. On the game page CHROMEHOUNDS, I have a section added explaining to readers that plyers have complained about numerous freezes and glitches when playing this game. I had also included a number of lins to various sites on the internet discusssing this issues. Here is my section in full:
"==Freezes and system issues== - On numerous Chromehound webforums, including the offical forums for xbox.com and chromehounds, players have complained about freezes and lock-ups of their Xbox 360s while playing Chromehounds[1]. Players have brought these concerns to Sega, From Software, and Microsoft and neither parties have been able to reproduce the problem. Hundreds of players have added their name to an ongoing list on the official Chromehounds forum, listing that Chromehounds has locked up or completely disabled their Xbox 360 system.[2] Some players have reported sending their systems to Microsoft, under warrenty or having to pay $130, for repairs and having their returned systems fail after resuming Chromehounds play. Some players have attempted to solve the problem themselves, by attempting to isolate the problem on their own.[3] . It must be stated that there is no absolute proof that Chromehounds is affecting the Xbox 360 systems, other than the reports from players. "
I feel that an issues like this needs to be brought to the attention of readers who might use this wikipedia for an educated opinion in purchasing this game. The user Soban continues to remove the section, and discussion with him have come to neither party happy. Rather than just play a add/remove game, I would like your opinion if a section like this should remain. I feel as a free content site, and as it is not in violations of any wiki rules, the section should remain. I have further links added in the discussion section of the chromehounds page. Thank you for your time in this matter, I am not sure if I went the right route in seeking your opinion. Logan074 16:19, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "Minor" edits
I noticed you mark your edits as minor edits - I'd like to point you at the link next to the 'minor edit' tickbox - the flag of a minor edit is for things like typo correction and fixing tables and links, rather than what your interpretation seems to be - a small contribution to the article. A small contribution to the article still remains a full edit - "...a change that affects the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it involves one word." Hope that clarifies! --Firien § 15:32, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Regarding Association of Members' Advocates
Hi, you are receiving this message because you have listed yourself as an active member of WP:AMA. If you aren't currently accepting inquiries for AMA, or if you have resigned, please de-list yourself from Wikipedia:AMA Members. If you are still active, please consider tending to any new requests that may appear on Category:AMA Requests for Assistance. We're going to put AMA on wheels. :) Sorry for the template spamming - we're just trying to update our records, after we had a huge backlog earlier in the week (if you've been taking cases, then sorry, and please ignore this :)). Again, sorry, and thanks! Martinp23 21:07, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Turkedit???
You've made a number of edits hardcoding Category:African diaspora stubs into articles with the edit summary "turkedit". Why has this been done and what is turkedit? CJ 23:48, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- I had seen similar edits from various IP addresses: 128.111.56.35, 72.16.128.146, 74.194.102.182, 199.243.123.82. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 03:48, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
This was a project to identify stubs relating to the African diaspora, commissioned by an Amazon Mechanical Turk user who used turkedit to identify those edits made as a result of the Mechanical Turk task. This was to determine that they had been done, identify who made those edits and determine the efficacy of using Amazon Mechanical Turk to drive wiki-editing for a mechanical unglamorous task. Matthew Platts 09:20, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation, until now I had never heard of Amazon Mechanical Turks. Many of the resultant edits involved placing the articles directly in stub categories without useing a {{stub}} tag, and at least one of the IPs put the word "turkedit" in the article space. But it doesn't sound like you're the person who commissioned the HIT, in which case this is purely FYI. Thanks again, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 09:37, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- It does however suggest that the HIT should have been more tightly defined and explicit about what was required. I shall contact the person who commissioned it in the first place. Matthew Platts 10:09, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
