[edit] Speedy deletion spam

With regard to your comments on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Saveonprepaid, where you voted to speedily delete with reason "spam" I just wanted to let you know that "spam" is not currently a speedy deletion criterion (although perhaps it should be).

Thanks for your AFD contributions! Stifle 00:07, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rock Lake

  • Turning a redirect into a disambig page was the appropriate thing to do, but please pay attention to the reason that redirect page existed. It was not a redirect to Rock Lake Township, Minnesota in Lyon County as you assumed, but to the actual lake called Rock lake in that same county which is listed on the county's page in the Lakes section. See the edit that I made after you to see what I mean. Thank you and happy wikiing.--Hraefen Talk 14:26, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:London-KensalGreen.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:London-KensalGreen.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:58, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Talk:Bow tie

Hi,

You may have an interest, since I saw your name in the history list of the Bow tie article: There's a separate article, List of bow tie wearers and an admin is suggesting deleting it. When I looked into the Bow tie page, I found there's already a list there. I don't have an opinion on which list should remain, but one really should go. I'd appreciate your advice on the Talk:Bow tie page, if you're interested and have the time.Noroton 00:53, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Chicago films

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Chicago films, by VirtualSteve, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Chicago films fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

Category was discussed and concluded here Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_January_6#Category:Chicago_films and contents of category have now all been resorted as per that discussion

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Chicago films, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Category:Chicago films itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 01:44, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Goodyear Blimp

Nice addition to that article. Kind of morbid, but I'm glad you added it. It appears that otherwise, they'd prefer to sort of try to forget about that one... --Mdwyer 05:37, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Michelle-Lamour.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Michelle-Lamour.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:45, 21 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Valrith 21:45, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Division Street Russian Bath

Great article! I swiped that Saul Bellow quote for my Wikitravel article. I've been there several times myself, but once I saw the quote, I knew I couldn't describe it any better. Gorilla Jones 21:22, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Concerning image SPQR Flag

Tell me is there any progress made on the status of the flag? Oren neu dag 16:40, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Well if there isn't any progress on the status i'll guess i'll remove the "requested for deletion" template since i see that the flag stays. Oren neu dag 19:51, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Dorset Street, London

Dorset Street, London, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Dorset Street, London satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dorset Street, London and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Dorset Street, London during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. iridescent (talk to me!) 21:29, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks. Let's see what happens. Anything you can add to try to save it would be great. It's an important topic, as you know, as the starter of the original article. Jack1956 (talk) 21:50, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Image

I will upload a high quality version of the image you wanted as soon as I can get it off my other computer. It should only take a day or 2. and-rewtalk 07:09, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Julian the Apostate

They was another attempt to have the article moved, but we failed (we tied). The admin closed the poll before one more move supporter could put in their support for the move. I'm trying to get the admin to open it up again. If I am successful, please post your support or opposition on the talk page. Thanks Thegreyanomaly (talk) 07:23, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Nova Roma Flag.svg

Hi!
After our little Rendezvous, I have decided to perfect both my knowledgs in vector graphics and in Copyright rules, and I have uploaded a SVG version of the Nova Roma flag to Wikipedia.
I hope you like this version, and I hope you can drop in to my talk page to tell me what you think of it.
All the best greetings --Oren neu dag (talk) 16:53, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Edit Summary

I just happened to read some old edit summaries of yours. You have quite a vocabulary. I'm sure you know that edit summaries live forever in the history. I thought I was viewing the Howard Stern page. A little decorum might be a good thing. From a fellow Chicagoan.--Buster7 (talk) 00:53, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Graveyard/Cemetery

Hi Matt. I've thought about the Graveyard/Cemetery (re: your post). As I understand it, graveyard ("yard") is a tract of land used for burials. Cemeteries can be below ground (e.g., catacombs) and at ground level (e.g. "yard" as in graveyard/cemetery). I don't think catacombs have been considered catacombs whereas catacombs may have been considered as cemeteries. Burial at sea and Space burial don't seem to bring up the issue of graveyard/cemetery. The solution seems to be two separate articles, with Graveyard focused more on the past pre-late 18th century and Cemetery focused more on 19th century on. There will be overlap between the two articles, but there seems enough to justify two articles. -- Bebestbe (talk) 18:18, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Cemeteries

Cemeteries are an area of land set aside to engage in a death custom. Category:Cemeteries is a subcategory of Category:Death customs. However, it should also be categorized regarding the "area of land" portion. I think cemeteries fall under Category:Human geography, but I am unable to narrow it down any further. Cemeteries are not limited to Category:Urban geography. Category:Political geography doesn't seem to fit since cemeteries are more commercial in nature (somewhat like golf courses but with significant government regulation). Category:Cultural geography doesn't seem to fit since cultural geography doesn't have finite geographic boundaries. It could be Category:Economic geography or Category:Land use, but when you look at the subcategories, the "area of land set aside to engage in a death custom" doesnt seem to fit well. Following Category:Land use, you get to land management. Template:Developments seems to break things down further, but I'm still having a hard time pinning down where cemeteries fit in the scheme of land set aside. Any suggestions?
