Ah, yeah I can see that's a better succession box. I'm not actually using that senator template much, since I've made javascript that can automatically do most of it for me, but I'll make sure to add that to the program, and I'll change the other articles I've done. --Mathwizard1232 03:42, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

One question, why does the US Senator box take which class they were in as a parameter, but then not display it? --Mathwizard1232 03:58, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

The sad truth is that I haven't figured out how to impliment that parameter in the succession box. So I've started putting in the parameter in the hopes that eventually someone (maybe you?) will figure it out and then the data will be there. —Mark Adler (markles) 05:34, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Done. I figured I'd try doing that, turns out it was easy. But then I started adding it to all the pages that used the template, but didn't have it. That was an hour an a half. Anyhow, that's added in now, so I'm going to go sleep for a day. --Mathwizard1232 07:18, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

I more or less stumbled into pruning the T series, at a time when I had time on my hands and a nervous tic that required use of a keyboard. I hope to finish the initial prune of T before running out of time.... wikipedia is nice in that it's got all these projects where you can work a little on them when you have time, and that little is actually somewhat useful..... --Alvestrand 22:54, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

There is a standard template for the Minnesota districts (see district 5) and I think that should be the template for the other states as well. I'll start working on them probably over my Spring Break next week. I don't know why people have shown so little interest in them thus far... You can respond here, I'm putting this on my watchlist. 2 questions: 1.) What template should I use for a US Senator, a standard succession box or the U.S. Senator box.

Personally, I would use the U.S. Senator box. It's sort of personal preference, but it adds some parts to make it easier to show senator-specific information (what class (1,2,3) and who they served alongside (isn't applicable for other offices)). To make it work, you need {{start box}} at the beginning (only one for all boxes, if other sucession boxes, not needed). Then, the box is: {{U.S. Senator box| state=| before=[[]]| alongside=[[]], [[]]| after=[[]]| years=1969–1987| }} I think those parameters are fairly self-explanatory. If you want to see how to use them, ask me. At the end of the boxes, put {{end box}}. I think that covers it. Ask me if there's anything else. --Mathwizard1232 21:17, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] SuggestBot code

I was just going through and archiving SuggestBot's talk page and saw you made a request a long time ago to look at some code. It's written in Perl, and it is pretty heinous because it spent a couple of months continuously changing without a grand plan, so there are bits and pieces of random, unused stuff everywhere, and the documentation is somewhere between lacking and nonexistent. So unless you're up for looking at a bunch of crappy undocumented code, you might want to wait until v2.
