.  Statement by Mattisse

On September 2, 2006 User:Rdsmith4 sent me the following message, [1] which accused me of having sock puppets and vote stacking against User:999. There was never a checkuser available for me to see.

  • I explained that a painful personal incident had occurred in my family involving my daughter and my grand kids temporarily staying with me over the two previous months and that I could not explain his sock puppet accusations. However, I accepted them, and as far as I know there have not been subsequent sock puppets. That was over one year ago.

Immediately after User:Rdsmith4's posting I began to be relentlessly stalked, harassed, and accused of having sock puppets by User:999, User:Ekajati, and Hanuman Das because I had put {{fact}} tags on some Starwood Festival article. This continues for six months without relief. Numerous ANI's were ANI's filed aganist me (estimated approximately 20 in two months), including several by Administrators, all of them determined to be groundless. Examples:

Next several RFC's, Medication Cabels were filed that, although named for the Starwood Festival, ended up being pages of accusations of sock puppets by me. Examples:

The ANI's continued and were supported in several cases by Administrators, specifically a prominent one who retired suddenly over one weekend and his files deleted after he filed an ANI against me immediately after he was appointed the new Starwood Mediator.

Then an Arbitration request was filed, that although named for the Starwood Festival ended up being more pages and pages of accusations of sock puppets against me

During the arbitration, one arbitrated recused himself, User:Blnguyen and spent a month tracking down the sock puppets. It was discovered that all of the editors who stalked harassed me for over six month were in a sock puppet ring that had been in existence starting in the Fall of 2005. Although they had been caught in the Spring of 2006, they said they were "a group of friends sharing the same laptop" who edited the same articles and were let off the hook and their sock puppet ring continued,

Later it was discovered that the original mediator in the Starwood Mediation cabal User:Geo.plrd was a sock puppet also.

After this a new series of sock puppets related to Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of Ekajati started up, but because they were harassing others besides me, this was nipped in the bud.

But whole painful incident regarding my daughter and her children, occurring in the Summer of 2006 will always be an element of my involvement with Wikipedia. See:


All this has taken its toll. Never after the posting by User:Rdsmith4 has any wrong doing been found on my part.

I have tried to survive and lately have been feeling a little less afraid about interacting with the Wikipedia community. But this was a mistake. It gave Wikipedia another opportunity to bring up and remind me of a extremely painful period in my personal life in the Summer of 2006 and there is no indication that this will ever stop.

Therefore, I choose not to continue on Wikipedia as a member who interacts with others. However, I refuse to be intimidated by the continued harassment and will proceed as I so choose. Mattisse 01:24, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
