My full name being Matthew John Gies, I am a native of Berkeley, California and a graduate of Berkeley High. I live in Portland, Oregon where I attended Reed College from August, 2001 until my graduation in May, 2005; my major was political science. I'm a big proponent of public domain anything, and of libertarianism. Although I correct factual errors where I'm aware of them, most of my edits on Wikipedia (other than reverting vandalism) pertain to grammatical and typographical corrections, as I am an unabashed grammar Nazi. I'm proud I took the initiative in creating the Olympic Peninsula.
