At age 18, Matikz moved from Newark, New Jersey to Baltimore, Maryland where he attended Morgan State University taking a interest in Chemistry. There Matikz matured in his rapping ability in which he acquired his thirst for wordplay and punchlines. Matikz crossed the paths many rappers in Baltimore, Maryland.
