The article says:

Castren was born at Tervola, in the parish of Kemi in Finland, on the 20th of November (December 2, 1813).

Does anybody know which is right? Was there a different Finnish calendar or something? Maybe he was a born-again Christian? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 143.238.244.181 (talk • contribs) 07:47, October 19, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Year of his death

New International Encyclopedia claims that he "...died May 7, 1852, from exhaustion - a martyr to science."

He has traveled "...as far east as China and as far north as the Arctic Ocean." Superslum 12:20, 1 August 2006 (UTC) * This article incorporates text from an edition of the New International Encyclopedia that is in the public domain.
