Talk:Matching hypothesis

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a very bad article that reads like it was copied from a high school/undergraduate textbook - the citations have the authors name and year but not the titles of the papers (as if the article writer copied it from a textbook but forgot to include the Bibliography), and the descriptions of the experiments are very vague,

Just did a minor change to the "computer dance" section near the top of the page. Article stated the study did not support the matching hypothesis when in fact it does.

This article looks like it has been copied from an A Level essay; it was probably written by a 17/18 year old student with minimal knowledge of the subject. Randomwellwisher 23:35, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

I think this article is excellent and don't see why it would be considered bad. It's clear, concise and provide well documented sources. I check to be sure the past revisions and the article was quite similar, so most likely those who criticized it would still have the same opinion with the present revision.

I know some people don't like the idea or concept of a matching hypothesis (most often by those who have little so-called Erotic capital. That's all and well, but it's hardly a reason to disgree with the topic (not saying it's the case here.)

On a personal note (and I know that doesn't have scientific validity of course) I see the matching hypothesis in action everyday, with partners closely matched in terms of physical attractiveness (save perhaps, with Sarkozy-Bruni type unions) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.1.133.104 (talk) 19:45, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
