Talk:Matatiele, Eastern Cape
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Good day.
My name is Jabulani Radebe. My father (Isaac, Themba, Uzaziyaza, Radebe); left Matatiele as a young boy about 80 years ago. His father Robert moved the whole family to Johannesburg. They were all buried here in Jo'burg together with my Partenal Grandma (Sophie "NaMbongo" Radebe). As a result, I have never had a chance to know the place of my Fore-Fathers and to know if I have any relatives remaining back home.
I am a grown man of 35 now but my longing to go back and find myself has not diminished. Infact, the older I get the deeper the longing. I don't know if I can still trace my Homeland but I would appreciate any enlightenment in this regard.
All I have as reference to my father is his ID No.
Can anybody assist?
Thanking you,
Radebe Jabulani
Hi Jabulani,
I am also from Matatile, I think your best bet is to visit the town, but find out which village they were from. If you know the village someone in the village will know your family. It might be difficult if you do not know the village. But you can scale it down by finding out where the Radebe's are from, I imagine that would scale it down to a region of about 5-10 villages. Send me an email I will send you information on Matatiele how to get there, where to stay and what to do while are there, it is an extrodinary place.
