[edit] Ammachi - a trademark!?

The article informs that Ammachi® is a registered trademark of Mata Amritanandamayi Center. Amrithanandamayi's official website www.amma.org also claims the same thing. See the(current list)

This is surprising. Ammachi is a word used by a very large section of Malayalies to address their natural/biological mother. It is not a new term coined by the authorities of Mata_Amritanandamayi_Math. What right this sect has to appropriate this term? Will somebody challange this nonsense in court?MANOJTV 08:41, 22 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Source of Fund for the Math

It is beyond my comprehension why the anonymous user 210.212.244.133 repeatedly delete the information pertaining to the major source of fund for the Amrithanandamayi Math. Do the Math authorities have anything to hide? The information provided in the paragraph is correct. To quote the weekly magazine The Week published from Kerala: Her ashram figures at the top of the list of charities receiving donations from abroad. In 1998-99, for instance, the ashram is said to have received more than Rs 50 crore. (Issue dated September 21, 2003). See the article at their website: Embracing the world. The same information is also available at the website of British Humanist Association: [1]. It says : Home Ministry records of the Government of India show that the Mata Amritanadamayi Mission is the second largest recipient in India of foreign funds – in 1998-99 alone Rs. 51.55 crores were received (about 515 million Indian Rupees or about 11.5 million US Dollars).

The anonymous user, who may in all possiblity be a devotee of Amrithanandamayi, may clarify his/her point of view, in case he/she intends to delete the information again. Indianskeptic 07:15, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
