Matrusri Education Society was founded in 1980 by a group of visionaries and philanthropists such as Arshadharmasri Late Sri Maturi Venkata Subba Rao as Founder Secretary, Sri Maturi Gopala Rao, the Architect of Nagarjunasagar Dam as Founder Chairman, besides persons of eminence who were industrialists, doctors, businessmen, administrators and advocates.

The Society first established Maturi Venkata Subba Rao Engineering College or MVSR Engineering College, affiliated to Osmania University, in 1981 which is now located in a sprawling campus at Nadergul, RR Dist., AP.

MVSR Engineering College i.e., Maturi Venkata Subba Rao Engineering College, was founded in 1981 with three disciplines. Over the years it has grown from strength to strength and is a premier technical institute in Andhra Pradesh. The total student strength at present is over 2300. There are 124 well-qualified faculty and 146 skilled supporting staff. The college had celebrated Silver Jubilee in 2007. Construction of several new buildings including new library block and extension of existing structures was taken up to inscrease more facilities. The concept of SMART CAMPUS was introduced during silver jubilee year by issuing smart cards to staff and students too. Following this step the college has become one of the few institutions which have effectively implemented SMART concept.

The college admits 570 Under-graduate students through the state-wide EAMCET exam conducted every year. It offers BE courses in seven streams ECE, CSE, EEE, MECH, CIVIL, PROD and IT every year. MTech course is offered for PROD students through GATE.
