Mattia Pasini (born August 13, 1985 in Rimini) is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. At the age of 9 he participated in his first ever race. After successful years in the Italian and European championships, he made his 125cc world championship debut in 2004 as the team-mate of Roberto Locatelli. He ended his first season in 15th place overall, and earned the rookie of the year award. His best results were a 3rd place in Qualifying and a 7th place in the Malaysian Grand Prix.
The following year he ran near the front of the pack in most of the races. Pasini won the Chinese and Catalan Grands Prix. He ended the year in fourth place overall. In 2006 Pasini again finished fourth, this time winning the Italian Grand Prix and the German Grand Prix.
The 2007 season started very badly as he suffered from poor reliability early in the year. That hindered his chances to win the championship. Despite having four wins, one more than championship leader Gábor Talmácsi and the same as runner-up Héctor Faubel, he ended the year in fifth place.
For 2008 season Pasini is riding for the Polaris World Aprilia team in the 250cc class. Pasini won his first 250cc race in his first outing in the opening round at the Qatar Grand Prix.
