Mattia Cassani (born 26 August 1983) is an Italian footballer presently playing with U.S. Città di Palermo in Serie A.
Cassani mainly plays at either left or right back and was brought in from Hellas Verona, then in Serie B, during the 2006 summer transfer window as replacement for the departed Fabio Grosso, being often featured also as right winger with the rosanero.
On April 6, 2008 Cassani scored his first professional goal, a late 25 yard shot which gave Palermo a 3–2 home win against Juventus ending a string of four consecutive defeats.[1]
