Matthias Höfs ( born in 1965 in Lübeck, Germany ) is a German trumpeter.
1982 - Studied at University of Music and Theater in Hamburg and Karajan-Academy in Berlin, passing concert examination with awards.
1884 first trumpet with the Philharmonic State Orchestra Hamburg
Matthias has won many first prizes in musical competitions, e.g 1988 Hanseatic City Cultural Prize of Lübeck, Eduard Söhring prize,
1990 International Music Championship Markneukirchen.
He received scholarships from the German Musical Council and the Mozart Society.
Since 2000 he has been a professor of trumpet and chamber music at the University of Music and Theater in Hamburg
Since 1985 he has been a member of the German Brass ensemble, and besides Enrique Crespo, he has arranged a large amount of the musical transcriptions for the group.
He is well-known for his outstanding performance and brilliant, limitless and virtuosic style.
