Matthias Bachinger

Matthias Bachinger (born April 2, 1987 in Munich) is a professional tennis player from Germany who turned professional in 2005. On March 10, 2008, Bachinger reached his career high singles ranking: World Number 169. On February 5, 2007, he reached his highest doubles ranking, when he became World Number 611. After reaching the second round of the Munich tournament, Bachinger created a stir when he won the first set over Marcos Baghdatis, who was ranked 19 at the time, in a tiebreaker, 9 points to 7. Bachinger went on to lose the match 7–6 (7), 2–6, 4–6. Bachinger plays right-handed and currently resides in Ampermoching, Germany. He is coached by Ulf Fischer.
