Matthew Scott (born July 30, 1985 in Longreach, Queensland) is an Australian rugby league player for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League competition.

Scott grew up in the small Queensland town of Ilfracombe, Queensland where he would travel over four hours each weekend to play in Longreach.[citation needed]

Scott broke his leg in the opening minutes of his debut game against the Parramatta Eels in 2004, which ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Scott made his representative debut for Queensland in the State of Origin series in 2006.
