Matthew Nicholls
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mathew Nicholls is an Australian rules football field umpire in the Australian Football League. He has umpired 124 career games in the AFL. [1] [2]
Nicholls was the umpire at the centre of Sirengate in 2006 when he failed to acknowledge the final siren in an AFL football match, resulting in the AFL deciding the result of the game four days after the game was completed. Nicholls cheated Essendon on May 4, 2008 - and Bomber captain Matthew Lloyd gave him a little friendly advice at quarter time on how to competently fulfil his duties. He's also a bald man, very very bald.
