Matthew Allen

Matthew James Allen (born September 15, 1972, in Colorado Springs, Colorado) is an American poet.

Matthew Allen was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he started the print periodical "Shadowlands" in 1989 under the organization "Karafiat Literature". Early on this was a platform to showcase his poetry and the writing and art of his writer's circle, but eventually became a free periodical displaying the art and poetry of people from all over the state. The magazine ceased operation in 1992. In 1994 with the rise of the internet the magazine was resurrrected as "Immortali Et Mors" and maintained a popular following leading to a spin-off "Dead Letters". Both publications eventually ceased and as of 2000 exist only in an archived state.

  • Fall of the Rebel Angels won the Recursive Angel Poetry Award.
  • Bistlecone won the Danse Harper Critics Award.
