Matteo Ceirano
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Matteo Ceirano (1870 in Cuneo - March 19, 1941 in Torino)[1] was an Italian businessman in the early automobile industry.
His father, Giovanni Battista Ceirano, was an automobile pioneer, and with his brothers Ernesto Ceirano and Giovanni Ceirano, Matteo worked in his father's automobile workshop.[2] With Giovanni, he created the Ceirano Matteo & C. (1903), which became Ceirano Matteo & C. - Vetture Marca Itala (1904), which was renamed the Itala Fabrica Automobile manufacturing company later that same year.[3] With Michele Ansaldi he established the Società Piemontese Automobili (1908), from which both retired in 1918.
