He has spoken about growing up in California and his decision to become a sports agent specializing in baseball players.
Matt is widely recognized for his innovative negotiating style. He is respected for maintaining an ethical foundation while competing in a business largely devoid of moral values.
His close relationship with star pitcher Dontrelle Willis helped his agency to grow, as did being the subject of ESPN's Jerry Crasnick's License to Deal. At an earlier point in his career when he doubted his ability to succeed as an agent, Willis got Sosnick's company logo tattooed onto his pitching arm. As of 2007, Sosnick represents more than 30 Major League players, including Freddy Sanchez and Ryan Doumit of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Kevin Kouzmanoff of the San Diego Padres, Billy Sadler of the San Francisco Giants and Darrell Rasner of the New York Yankees.
