Matt Singer

Matt Singer, born December 23, 1980, is the host and figurehead of IFC News. Most notably, he appears alongside R Kelly introducing Trapped In The Closet on IFC and IFC.com.

Growing up in Marlboro, NJ, Singer attended Syracuse University from 1998 until 2002 where he was heavily involved in University Union, Cinema Board, and WERW. In addition, he formed the band, Melish (named after Woody Allen's character in Bananas, though ironically spelled incorrectly). While at Syracuse, he interned at Troma. At this time, he also reportedly received a 7.1 on hotornot. He continued at graduate school at New York University, and worked at The Village Voice.

Singer was briefly one of hosts of the short lived MTV show, Your Movie Show. He currently hosts IFC News on air.
