Detective Senior Constable Matt Ryan is a fictional character from the Australian Crime series City Homicide. He appeared in the debut episode "In The Hands Of Giants", and has appeared in every episode since.
It was recently shown that his mother disappeared when he was a teenager and his father, who lives with him, he was clearly driven insane by this. It is also clear that he is attracted to colleague Jennifer Mapplethorpe.
