[edit] Biography
Matthew Montgomery (aka "Piggy D") grew up in west Houston and attended Mayde Creek High School of Katy ISD, graduating in 1994. While attending both elementary and secondary schools he resided in the Bear Creek area located just minutes west of Houston in the suburb of Katy, Texas.
While a teenager in Texas, Montgomery played in several bands, the first of which was Dementia 13, a band in which he played guitar and sang. He also played in two other bands while living in Houston; a group called Spunk and then a "drag-queen horror punk" band during 1994-1999 known as the She Demons. Most of his performances were at a local club called Fitzgerald's and another club known as "The Abyss" (now closed).
The She Demons broke up after Piggy relocated to Boston, where he briefly played guitar for a band called Woody. Piggy met Wednesday 13 of the Murderdolls, and was invited to play guitar in 13's solo band. Piggy stayed with the band until early 2006 when he left the band to join up with rock legend Rob Zombie.
As well as his work with Rob Zombie, Piggy D. has recently released a solo album, "The Evacuation Plan", which charts the effects of Hurricane Katrina on Piggy's personal life, using lyrics taken from journals that he kept during those times.
[edit] Recent
In early 2006 Piggy D. was acquired by Rob Zombie as a bassist, replacing Rob "Blasko" Nicholson on the American Witch tour. Montgomery's debut performance with Rob Zombie came on May 24 where the band made an appearance on CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman".
Piggy's debut solo album "The Evacuation Plan" was released through his own label, Black Victory Records on July 31, 2007. The album features Tommy Clufetos of Rob Zombie on drums and Calico Cooper on guest background vocals. The album was co-produced by Dave Spreng (Valient Thor). The tracklist is as follows (not in order): Die Young, Mr. Anxiety, Ladies' Night, Roll Call, Smoke & Mirrors, Last Man on Earth, For My Revenge, Brave or Faithless, 3 Chords, No One Knows You're Alive, Chemistry, The Dare.
