Matthew Christian Grant (age 27) Is the twelfth Bachelor, and the first truly international Bachelor, on the American reality TV series The Bachelor. He is a financier and business development manager from London and worked at Lombard Asset Finance (RBS) in Cambridge for three years before moving to London.[1]
Grant received a B.A. in modern history and politics from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. He captained the university's rowing team and skis, plays rugby, cricket, and tennis. Other interests include comedy, current affairs, photography, music and politics.[2]
Matthew, the youngest of five brothers and the tallest at 6'5", was born in Bishop's Stortford, a small town in Hertfordshire, England. He currently lives in London. His ideal attributes in a woman are a sense of adventure, playfulness, fun, a love of travel and the outdoors, a sense of humour, self-deprecation, and an outgoing personality.
Grant is alleged to be a massive fan of British music star George Michael and British comedian Steve Coogan.
One of Grant's closest friends is the popular London restauranteur, food mogul and international cheese connoisseur, Marc Kennard. Grant even ran the London-based Kennard's outlet for three weeks when Kennard was on his honeymoon in the fall of 2004.
He is engaged to Shayne Lamas after the couple met on The Bachelor's twelfth season.
Matt Grant is represented by maverick entertainment icon Stephen Zelenka.
