Matt Fraction (born Matthew Fritchman on December 1, 1975, Chicago Heights, Illinois) is an American comic book writer, and co-founder of Artbomb and Savant.

Fraction wrote two columns for Comic Book Resources: Poplife and The Basement Tapes, the latter with Joe Casey.

Fraction started creating comics with the smaller publishers, like AiT/Planet Lar and IDW Publishing. He scored a hit with The Five Fists of Science, achieved widespread critical acclaim with Casanova and proceeded to work on a number of Marvel series.

Formerly a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, Fraction currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri, with his wife, writer Kelly Sue DeConnick. On September 9, 2007, their first child Henry Leo was born.

He was nominated for an Eisner Award in April 2008 for his work on The Sensational Spider-Man annual. He also shared a "Best New Series" nomination with Ed Brubaker and David Aja for their work on Immortal Iron Fist.
