Matt Evers (born 16 March 1976) is an American figure skater. With Heather Allebach, he won the Junior Pairs title at the 1998 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Matt is currently training as a professional actor, model and spokesperson for U.S. and European manufacturers at trade shows, in commercials and print media.[1]
Starting in January 2006, Matt appeared in ITV's reality ice-skating competition Dancing on Ice as the professional skating partner to stage and screen performer Bonnie Langford. They were favourites throughout the competition due to their routines characterised by many dramatic and impressive lifts and tricks which often showed off Langford's flexibility. They finished 3rd, but achieved the series highest mark of 28.5 which included two sixes, the only sixes seen up to that point in the competition. In the second series he is partnered with Lisa Scott-Lee, from pop group Steps, and reached sixth before being voted off by the judges four votes to one against.
In the Australian version of Dancing on Ice produced by the Australian TV station TCN-9 in Sydney, Matt's partner was Australian model Lara Bingle.
Matt partnered Bonnie once more for the Dancing on Ice Champions of Champions competition, in which the final three skaters for each UK series went head to head. During the live show Bonnie fell over in her performance, which was the only flaw, putting her second with the judges. In an interview with the judges they unanimously agreed that, going on the rehearsal, that if Bonnie hadn't tripped she would have received perfect 6's from all.
Matt returned for Torvill & Dean's Dancing on Ice: The Tour, dancing with both Bonnie Langford and Lisa Scott Lee. He also partnered Kristina Lenko for a professional routine. Lara Bingle was instead partnered with Daniel Whiston.
In series 3 of Dancing on Ice Matt is partnering ex-Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw. Together in the final, they got the highest possible score of 30 for their flying routine and another score of 30 for their favourite routine. They were announced as the winners. They achieved this the same day as Matt turned 32.
