Matt Cottengim

Matt Cottengim 2006 - Signed a one year contract with the Rochester Raiders as the 3rd string quarterback. Prior to the start of the Great Lakes Indoor Football League (GLIFL)inaugural season, the Rochester Raiders pre season starting quarterback Mike Mikolaichik sustained an injury to his foot which resulted in Cottengim's move to second string quarterback behind Omar Baker. Cottengim played the 4th quarter of a blow out home opener against the NY NJ Revolution. He next stepped into action while visiting the Port Huron Pirates. Starting quarterback Omar Baker had left the game with an injury to the jaw late in the 4th quarter. From week three on Cottengim assumed the starting role and led the Raiders to the GLIFL Championship Game. Cottengim was named the GLIFL 2006 Most Valuable Player (Vincent Cleveland Memorial Trophy). Following the season Cottengim attended workouts with the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Soul.

2007 - Signed a one year contract with the Rochester Raiders as the starting quarterback. Was replaced by Mike Mikolaichik in the 4th quarter of the season home opener against rival Port Huron Pirates.
