Matrix Games is a publisher of computer games, specifically strategy games and wargames. They are based out of Staten Island, New York.
Their focus is primarily on war games and turn-based strategy but the company is by no means limited to the wargaming market. Matrix Games boasts an eclectic product line-up which ranges from space sims (Starshatter - The Gathering Storm) , to sports management sims (Maximum-Football), and real-time strategy titles (Close Combat - Cross of Iron). Like their game titles, Matrix Games also has a wide variety of developers that it publishes for. Venerable wargame developers like SSG, 2by3 Games, and Panther Games as well as innovators and up-and-coming companies like Koios Works, Destroyer Studios, and Western-Civilization round out the ever-growing list of Matrix developers.

[edit] Company History
Matrix Games was founded by David Heath in 2001 in Staten Island, New York. As of March 2007, Matrix Games has published several dozen titles. Throughout its history, Matrix Games has often been referred to by wargame developers as the "Home Depot of Wargaming" because of its ability to provide a wide variety of game developer assistance to smaller developing firms. Matrix has in-house artists, programmers, and producers which all take active roles in projects of smaller wargame developers who lack the resources to hire full-time staff otherwise.
Matrix Games' involvement with the development of the products it publishes is very much a part of their philosophy, as stated on their website:
The most important philosophy of our company is we love what we make. We’re gamers first and then we take our love of games and put them into our products. The result has been a tremendous success.
