[edit] Plot summary

Mirai is supervising repairs on White Base and goes up to check on Amuro, Hayato and Kai. Amuro tells her that he doubts the ship can be fixed with what they got. Mirai says they will be getting supplies soon sent by General Revil.

Mirai then goes to visit Bright, who is still in the infirmary. He gives her a notebook with notes on how to command the ship. He admits that fear caused him to get sick. Mirai feels doubtful but Bright has faith in her and says that he’ll recover soon.

Meanwhile, aboard a Big Tray class land battleship, General Revil meets with General Elron, Lt Matilda and Judock to discuss Operation Odessa’s order of battle. Revil wants the White Base to attack M’Quve’s rear lines. Revil also orders Matilda to send upgrade modules for the Gundam before the battle.

Judock, being a Zeon double agent, delivers this information to M’Quve, who then orders Elron to deliberately slow down his forces during the operation. M’Quve then orders a squadron of Goufs, Dodai YS bombers and Dopps to destroy Matilda’s supply ships en route to White Base. Mirai receives a message by Revil informing them of the supplies delivery. When the Goufs and Dodai YS launch their attack on Matilda’s Medea ships, she sends out a distress signal to White Base. Sayla orders Amuro to launch in the Core Fighter, followed by Kai in the Guncannon, and Hayato and Job in the Gunperry. Mirai argues that doing that will leave the ship defenseless, but Sayla says she knows what she’s doing.

A Medea is downed, but then Amuro arrives and attacks Goufs, destroying one of them. As he’s running out of ammunition he wishes the Gunperry arrives soon with the Gundam modules. As he is recovering, Bright thinks about Ryu and the sacrifice he’d made, hoping to become as strong as Ryu was. Meanwhile, despite some interference by a Gouf and a Dodai YS, the Gundam is successfully assembled in midair. Once in the ground, the Gundam engages a Gouf. Nearby, Matilda’s ships land on a forest due to heavy damaged inflicted upon by the Goufs and Dodai YS.

The Gouf has Amuro and the Gundam wrapped up with its heat rod and is unable to move. Amuro, however, finds a way to destroy the Gouf with his beam saber. But due to the heavy damage from the heat rod the Gundam can barely move. Bright calls the bridge via video monitor and asks Mirai the status of the situation. She tells him that the Medeas shall be arriving soon. Kai is fighting another Gouf and Dodai YS and tells Amuro to hurry. The Gundam is attacked by another Gouf as it can barely move. As the Gouf approaches for the kill, Hayato shoots at it with the new G-Fighter. Amuro jumps onto the G-Fighter and destroy the Gouf and Dodai YS in midair. After the fight is over Revil communicates Mirai she will be commended for her command during battle. Mirai thinks she didn’t do so well but is reassured by Sayla. Matilda thanks Amuro, Hayato, and Kai for saving her and her convoy.
