Mathias Leonardo Vidangossy Rebolledo (born May 25, 1987 in Santiago) is a Chilean football player, who currently plays for Audax Italiano. Vidangossy can be utilized as forward or midfielder. Vidangossy belongs to Spanish club Villarreal CF.

[edit] Early Career

Vidangossy began his career in the youth squad of Universidad Católica. Vidangossy left the team at the age of fourteen because the team was looking for a taller and faster player. [1]

Soon after leaving Universidad Católica, Vidangossy was invited to join the youth squad of Unión Española. He debuted as a professional for Unión Española in 2005 and became a constant in the starting lineup.

[edit] Chile U-20

In 2007, he was selected to play for the Chilean U-20 national team in 2007 South American Youth Championship that took place in Paraguay. Vidangossy scored two goals against Bolivia.

Chile went on to qualify for the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup that took place in Canada. In Chile's Quarter-finals match against Nigeria, Vidangossy scored the fourth and final goal in overtime. Before Vidangossy scored in the 122nd minute, he had fell to the floor with cramps. After scoring the goal Vidangossy fell to the floor in exhaustion. Chile would go on to win the third-place game.

Because of his good performances in the South American Youth Championship and U-20 World Cup, Vidangossy was signed a five-year contract with Villarreal CF in Spain. The team is coached by Chilean Manuel Pellegrini and Chilean Mati Fernandez plays there.

Vidangossy never played a game for Villarreal because all of the team's foreign player spots were used up and he was quickly loaned to first division team UD Almeria. However, he never played in an official first division match.

He ended his contract with UD Almeria and at the beginning of 2008 he was subsequently loaned to Chilean club Audax Italiano, which played in the Copa Libertadores 2008.
