Mathias Springham, was a British merchant who was involved with the plantation of Ulster. He served as Master of the Merchant Taylors' Company of London in 1617 and founded the Free School in Derry, now Foyle and Londonderry College, for 'the honour of God and the spreading of good literature'. He was born in 1561 and died in 1620.
