Mathias Nygård (often referred to as 'Warlord Nygård') is the founder of Finnish Viking metal/folk metal band Turisas, along with Jussi Wickström, in 1997. He is the vocalist of the band but in studio also plays and programs keyboards/orchestral elements, recorders and additional percussion.

He is also the main composer/lyricist, and also produces the albums. He has knowledge of the recording/mixing roles and sometimes engineers in the recording extra parts for songs himself.
