Mathew Batsuia is a political figure from the Pacific nation of Nauru.

Batsuia has served as a member of the Parliament of Nauru following successive national elections and, in a Parliamentary system where parties are not well developed, he is seen as close politically to President Marcus Stephen, who took office as President in 2007.

Batsuia serves as Nauru's Minister of Justice. He is a noted figure in the attempts of the Administration of President Marcus Stephen's efforts to find recognition according to internationally accepted norms of governance, since he is coordinating efforts with the United States Treasury to counter money laundering [1]
